The way for a person to ‘live well’ is to enter into the nature’s flow and behave like a true human-being. It is no easy feat to live having completely eliminated one’s self, but it can be said that a life that is lived without attachments to life is a truly ‘well-lived’ life. Everyone goes through suffering, pain and experiences heavy burdens, but a ‘well-lived life’ is one where one eliminates his self and he does not bear those burdens. It is human to speak grandly but behave differently, when one meets circumstances that demand sacrifices or which encroach on him or his life. However, when one’s self no longer exists, the conflicts in his life disappear and he is not attached to the life he lives – this is the best way to live one’s life.

There are two types of minds – the mind of the Universe and the human mind. The original mind is the entire Universe and the human mind is one that forms from the environment in which one grows up. In our meditation, we cleanse away all human minds and return to the mind of the Universe that is the original mind.

The conception of good and evil is something that exists in man’s mind. The conception of good and evil did not originally exist. Good and evil exists in man’s self-made notion that this is good and that is evil. In God, good and evil does not exist; God is great love. An act that we believe to be ‘good’ is not actually true goodness but a delusion, if the act is done with the mind that good is being done. When a lion catches prey to eat, it is done without the mind that such an act is good or evil. In the same way, man must also become free of the conception of good and evil. Only in one’s notions, in one’s mind, does good and evil exist.

This talk took place in Atlanta, Georgia, just before Easter in 2003 in order to discuss the Universe and meaning of Truth in depth. Joe Gattis is a Christian priest who fulfilled his pastoral duties in America for over 27 years. He had just started teaching meditation at the time of this talk.

Master Woo Myung Lecture – What Is the Existence of Truth?

Worldly preconceptions teach us that the Truth is something that is eternal and never-changing. I, too, teach that the Truth is eternal, never-changing, and alive. I also teach what worldly preconceptions do not – what the existence of the Truth is. It is the place before all material forms were created; in other words, the Truth is the emptiness that remains when you take away everything in the sky that is the Universe – the stars, the sun, the moon, and the earth and even all material substances from the air.

Woo Myung first met Dr. Charles Mercieca in Huntsville, Alabama, in September 2002 after a meeting at the United Nations headquarters with Dr. Han Seung-Soo, then the President of the U.N. General Assembly, to discuss how to achieve world peace. At that time, Dr. Mercieca became certain that achieving inner peace was the way to achieve the world peace and awarded Woo Myung the Mahatma Gandhi Peace Prize, as well as designating him a World Peace Ambassador for his contributions to the world peace and the recovery of people’s original nature.

Master Woo Myung’s World Lecture Tour

1952 6th April : Born in Uiseong, Kyungbook, South Korea.
1960 : At age 8, loses his father and begins to ponder fundamental questions about life and death.
1970’s : Completes his study at a college.
1980’s : Deep introspections and questions about life begin in his thirties.

As a result of years searching for a way to achieve human completion, Woo Myung founded Ma-Eum Su-Ryun (our meditation method) with its 7-level method to discard human mind.

Woo Myung’s teachings are not confined to the meditation lecture halls. Wherever he happened to be, when there were people wishing to know about their original nature and Truth, even if it was just one person, he would talk to them through the night.

The answers to these questions only came to Woo Myung after he achieved Truth. He then realized that anyone can become Truth if they discarded their selves, and he began to ponder on the best method possible to teach others to also become Truth.
