Master Woo Myung Truth Poem – Absence of Self
When your mind does not exist,
Read MoreWhen your mind does not exist,
Read MoreThe whole of creation is the oneness.
Read MoreThe mind does not really exist.
Read MoreLong ago,
we would make a fire,
sit on straw mats,
and shoo the mosquitoes away.
Do not sing or dance about human life.
Read MoreWhere there is Truth, there is the Way.
Read MoreTruth is a never-changing, living existence
that man cannot see.
The original Truth is
the universe before the universe,
Although there is daylight
sleeping people do not know it.
When your mind does not exist,
you become heaven and earth.
The mind that thinks;
the mind that loves;
these minds are all man’s thoughts.
There were people living long ago,
a long, long time ago.
Man is a creature
that has no equal in the world.
In the days
when there were not many people living in the world,
every mountain was green.
If you were to ask me
what this life is that you are living,
I would tell you that there is no Truth in that life.
A drifter has no home.
A drifter has no wants.
A drifter is man.
A drifter’s mind is nervous.
A drifter is lonely.
I can see the terraced rice paddies in these mountains;
hail falls from the sky.
To all of you living in the world:
learn how to be unknowledgeable
before being knowledgeable.
The river is silent
in the past and present.
All the people of the past have gone
and new people have come.
Though I exist in the clouds, no one has seen me,
though I exist in the wind, no one has seen me,
though I exist in the celestial bodies, no one has seen me,
though I exist in the world, no one has seen me,
though I exist within people, no one has seen me.
No one has seen me because they do not have the universe.
Blue birds are blue,
and sparrows are the color of sparrows.
Each is camouflaged in its own way.
Other animals have their own camouflaging colors.
All animals live, die, and are born in their own way.
Nobody taught them anything.
Master Woo Myung Poem – Sighs
The passing years become one’s companion
as he lives his life.
Master Woo Myung Book – Mind – Nature II
The river that flows
does not ever wind back and return.
Master Woo Myung Poem – Heavenly Being
No one knows me.
I am originally Heaven;
I exist in the world in human form,
but no one knows me.
Master Woo Myung Poem – Stranger
A familiar face is walking over into the yonder,
but because we are used to seeing him,
we do not realize that he is a heavenly being.
Master Woo Myung Poem – Heaven’s Will
I can recall the early winter,
when fallen leaves would blow in the wind,
for I do not have a want-filled, human mind,
and thus I do not have the mind of spring and summer,
which is a mind that is always seeking to be filled.
My mind is the empty Mind.
My mind is the Mind that has no wants.
Master Woo Myung Poem – Truth
but I live a non-existent life.
Life is a thing that exists because the body exists.
Man is born into the world
then leaves one day after having lived a life of wants.
Man spends his whole life ignorant of the fact that
everything of his world is futile.
Master Woo Myung Poem – This Universe Exists As It Is, but Man Judges It Because He Has Never Been It and Because He Sees It from His Own Point of View

The elixir of life sought by Emperor Qin,
does not exist in the world.
He tried to find it because he did not know
the universal order of nature –
all of nature is as it is.
Master Woo Myung Mind – Home
At home the flowers bloom as they always do.
It seems home is the best place in the world,
because those who leave come back as corpses.
If someone does not come back home,
it is because he is busy trying to make
a living in a foreign land,
and if he is busy, it means he finds it a struggle
to earn enough to live.
Master Woo Myung Meditation Poem – Living
A person who has experienced
the bloodiness of the world
detests that bloodiness,
just as a person who has experienced poverty
detests poverty.
Master Woo Myung Truth Poem – Mistaken
Birds are flying in the sky.
A plane is flying in the sky.
A cow is grazing in the pasture.
A horse is grazing in the pasture.
And man is living his so-called life.
Master Woo Myung Method to Find Truth – Chasing Out Demons
A person who chases out demons weeps tears of blood.
Demons are manifestations of the mind one has.
When one’s demons depart, he unites with God
and the world of oneness exists in his mind.
When the demons have been chased out,
the ghost-house in which the demons lived
remains in his body.
Master Woo Myung Truth Poem – The Sound of Wind Chimes
The wind chimes of Heaven ring leisurely,
but people do not know this
and so they look to the sky and sigh.
Listen! Listen!
I say to you all that life in Heaven
does not exist separately from
life on earth.
What is truly valuable is
the life you live on the earth with each others’ love.
Master Woo Myung Nature’s Flow – Love
Love is endlessly peaceful.
Love is endlessly understanding.
Love is something that only humans have.
Love is about giving what you have.
Love is about humans loving humans.
Master Woo Myung Truth Poem – Heaven I
Patches of clouds are afloat in the sky.
They spark the fantasies of man.
What exists beyond the blue sky?
There is the endless sky –
the source that is man’s true nature
which has no end.
Master Woo Myung Meditation Poem – The Age of Man
Human life does not actually exist,
but man creates it by living.
His life is the karma he has created.
And because he takes on his life,
his mind is constantly in turmoil
as he grows old and dies.
Master Woo Myung Meditation Poem – Original Mind
“So long!”
“Good-bye!”
Though people say their reluctant farewells,
I worry that they may end up getting hurt.
The Mind of Heaven is Nature’s flow.
It is the Mind that is still and exists as it is.
It is the Mind that is alive –
Master Woo Myung Poem – A Demon
A demon is none other than yourself.
It is thought that demons exist somewhere out there,
but you are the demon.
Your existence is greed and attachments –
a creature that has a self.
A person who lives with his conceptions and habits
is a demon.
Master Woo Myung Words of Wisdom – Basic Instinct
All living things
have basic instincts.
Basic instincts exist in one’s form;
all things live according to their forms –
they live how they were made.
Master Woo Myung’s Message – Poems to Awaken – How to Live Well
To live without attachments is to live well.
To live without self is to live well.
To stand in Truth is to live well.
To live without confrontation is to live well.
To live a life of that is of nature’s flow is to live well.
To live as one is to live well.
To know that life is eternal is to live well.
To live without worries, pain, or agony is to live well.
To live as the emptiness is to live well.
Master Woo Myung’s Message – Poems to Awaken – How to Treat Others
When dealing with another,
do so with the absence of your mind.
When you do this,
that person will feel at utmost ease.
When you do this,
you will become one with that person.
When you become one with him,
he will listen to your words,
which are free of mind.
Master Woo Myung’s Message – Poems to Awaken – Bright Light
The day the dark clouds are lifted
will be the day in which the world will be bright.
What does it mean for the world to be bright?
It means that
man’s individual mind will no longer exist.
It means that
his life exists, but he will not exist in it.
Such a place would be a bright world.
Master Woo Myung’s Poems to Awaken – Love
Love is endlessly peaceful.
Love is endlessly understanding.
Love is something that only humans have.
Love is about giving what you have.
Love is about humans loving humans.
Love is about sharing goodness with others.
Love is about showing mercy to others.
A new life is unfolding.
Human life exists because man lives,
and in this life of his, there must be righteousness.
But man does not know what righteousness is.
Thus I must awaken him to it and save him.
The world is full of words and so noisy
but nothing happens according to man’s will.
Man believes he makes the world
because he is superior,
but heaven is silent.
In a noisy world full of countless things
man builds and destroys,
in vain, he ages and disappears.
A person who believes himself to be superior,
a person who believes himself to be clever,
is actually a truly inferior person,
he is someone who has bound his own legs.
Who is a truly superior person?
A person who is not self-superior is truly superior.
Man ages with time,
with life.
That man ages is Nature’s flow.
Nature is a flow;
it is of its own accord.
Clouds are floating peacefully
in the infinite sky.
People do not know the laws of the universe.
People do not know the will of the universe.
People live with worries
because they need to eat and survive.
No one knows the principle
that all things happen of and by themselves.
The wanderer has grown accustom to this foreign land;
he is bound to the land due his love for it.
The same can be said for life, in that
man has a love for life –
a love he cannot become free of.
Clouds are floating peacefully
in the infinite sky.
People do not know the laws of the universe.People do not know the will of the universe.
Human life is not true, but false
so there is nothing to gain, receive or have from it.
All songs and praises that glorify human life are false.
A couple should be of one mind
in order to be husband and wife.
A couple should have no distance between them
in order for them to be husband and wife.
A couple should not try to possess each others’ minds.
Youth is a time filled with endless dreams.
Youth is a time filled with unlimited beauty.
Youth is full of boundless love.
And though their youth may fade and they may grow old,
If you want to know me,
if you want to find me,
if you want to see me,
to resemble me,
to be one with me;
come to heaven.
Even the young cowboy who feeds his cattle
has become so worn by the city and its civilization
that he cannot find his cattle.
He says he tends to them
when in fact he does not know what cattle are.
Dear Adada,
You have been born in to this world as a human being,
but you are a dumb mute.
However you are infinitely good.
Dear Adada,
Who could possibly know your heart?
A walker walks
and a runner runs.
There are many different paths that people take,
but people hurriedly travel their paths
ignorant of where they are headed.
Every person has memories.
Memories are what one remembers of the past.
Past memories become the roots of one’s mind,
and they form the present,
which is lived with this karma.
Cosmos flowers, swaying in the breeze,
blossom by the roadside and are beautiful
even in the cold wind and frost.
Cosmos flowers, swaying in the breeze,
are both fragile and strong.
The Mind is absent of wants.
The Mind is all creations in the universe.
The Mind is the minds of all individual things
which are of various shapes and images
that live and think.
To be complete is to be without death, and the world that lives eternally is the complete world.
Read MoreThe passing sailboat
may look peaceful, detached, and beautiful,
but it is not so for the sailboat.
Pushing through the blue waves,
with its white sails raised,
it is lonely.
I knew not what ‘doh (Truth)’ was,
but upon walking its path,
I am now on the true Way.
I try flying endlessly
in the blue sky.
No matter how far I go
it is always the same place,
the same spot.
In the far distance, puffy white clouds
are drifting by.
Clouds pass,
and it is me that watches them.
There are countless stars shining
outside, through the window.
They are not of anybody’s mind,
but they all keep order
and are in their places.
I am naked and my life is naked, too.
I lived wearing clothes –
I lived behind a mask.
Which was more expensive,
the clothes or the man?
Man lives carelessly,
not knowing Truth or falseness,
but comes to know them by coincidence.
Such is none other than the path of ‘doh (Truth)’.
I was one who could not die, for I was afraid of death.
But now that I have died
and have thus become free of all my burdens,
I have reached the state of great enlightenment.
Though one may live in the world sighing,
though one may live in the world laughing,
they are all futile dreams.
Time passes,
making everything into a dream
and scattering all existent images into pieces.
Mountain birds live in the mountains;
river birds live near the river;
and seabirds live by the ocean.
All things live where they should;
everything is in its rightful place.
When the wind blows,
I follow the wind;
and when the rain falls,
it soaks my body.
Master Woo Myung Poem – The Sky Is the Stage and the Creations Are the Actors
Many things may come and go in the empty space of the sky,
but the sky always just exists.
This sky is the mother and father of all creations;
it raises and rears all creations,
and it is also the stage.
When fog densely covers the world,
people are unable to see through it.
That the fog and the emptiness are different
is a meaningless distinction that man makes.
The days of playing my willow pipe,
the days of laying near the stream
dreaming about my future,
have all become a longing
now that I am living absent of self.
The mind differs depending on the person.
Man’s mind is formed out of the experiences of his life;
it is formed out of his environment.
The lives people live are different depending on the person.
Master Woo Myung Poems to Awaken – Daybreak
With the dawning of a new day comes
the birds’ flight.
With the dawning of a new day comes
the dew that glistens in the sunlight.
I say to you all:
do not try to know
where it is I have come from,
or how I have come to know
the Truth I teach.
When seen from the big point of view –
from the world’s point of view –
the whole world is one.
But people live blaming the world.
