Dictionary meaning of enlightening
give (someone) greater knowledge and understanding about a subject or situation.
If so, one can give greater knowledge and understanding when one is in that state of mind. To be in that state of mind, we should be free from our own conceptions and habits. In other words, we need to get away from a narrow-minded point of view. Once we throw away one’s perspective, we recover our original mind which is an objective point of view. and with that mind, we can truly have great knowledge and understanding.
We can find enlightenment within us, not from outside. When we look back on ourselves and throw away our own conceptions and habits, and we would recover the genuine mind that we originally have.
For me, I had full of my own standards and conceptions about right and wrong and I’ve been judging the people or situations according to my narrow standards endlessly. and always had doubts and questions I can’t solve inside me.
but once I discard my mind one by one, and I could recover this original mind, it is really free. and I could have the sense of wisdom that decide the situations more precisely, and all the doubts and life-long questions that I had are gone gradually.
When myself which is fake is gone, this original mind remains, and this mind is free from worries. and this is the true awakening.
