Master Woo Myung The Book of Wisdom – What is the meaning of the phrase, “Only I am great in all of heaven and earth”?

The phrase, “Only I am great in all of heaven and earth”, is speaking of the state when one does not dwell as a man even as he lives as a man, and when he does not dwell on earth even while he lives on earth; it is speaking of when one exists in the place of Truth, the Universe, where neither man nor earth exists.
This and that exist only when one’s self exists; when one does not exist, neither does this nor that. One’s original self is the Universe, and because this Universe is one’s self, the phrase means that only the Universe alone is great. Man cannot become one with this Universe that is his original self, because he has a self which he continuously asserts. He must eliminate this self if he is to become one with the Universe and become the state where “Only I am great in all of heaven and earth”. When he does so, he who is the Universe both before he was born and after, is a great existence. This is the meaning behind this phrase.
