Master Woo Myung Writing – Religious Wars and Infighting
Ever since religions have existed in the world, there have also been never-ending religious wars. Not only do we still have religious wars, there are now also conflicts between members of the same religious group. If religions were perfect, the world would have already become one and religious wars would have disappeared.
I was invited to speak to a group of clergyman and during the lecture I told them the following: Man believes anything that does not agree with his own thoughts – his framework of mind – is wrong. In the same way, any religion that is not his own is believed to be a cult. However it is only when one is in a cult that he can have this kind of belief. People have no wisdom so they live without knowing what is right. There is no righteous person in the world so if man is to become righteous, that is, if he is to become a saint, he must repent all of his sins. Then he can become righteous – he can become the existence of Truth. How can a person who does not love his enemies be a righteous person? Man is unable to love his enemies; only a righteous person who has become Truth is able to do so.
I asked them how religions could come together in harmony when within one religion there are such deep divisions and denominations. I also told them that it would be natural for more denominations of each religion to keep forming in the future if people who have not become Truth continue to interpret their religious scriptures in their own way.
The clergymen all agreed that without becoming Truth, people will not be able to know Truth properly and will each believe that other religions are cults. I told them the way for religions to become one.
Even though there is only one Truth, expressed in different ways, people believe that they mean different things and each claims his own expression is correct.
I then told them, the infinite Universe’s great Soul and Spirit itself is Truth; and when everyone discards what he knows and discards his self that is a sinner by acknowledging that none other than himself is the greatest sinner, this great Soul and Spirit that is Truth remains.
If everybody is then born as this existence itself, they can become one in the land of Truth. I told them that this is the solution for all religions to become one.
To go beyond religion, to transcend religion, everyone must become complete, and when they do, all religious infighting and wars will come to an end. The way to transcend religion is for man to repent his original and actual sins and become resurrected by the Soul and Spirit of the infinite Creator and Truth. Then, religions, ideologies and philosophies can all become one. We can all live as one without conceptions of your country and my country and divisions between nations.
