Master Woo Myung Message – Do You Know Where You Will Go When You Pass on to the Afterworld?
From long ago, many people have spoken of the afterworld. In Buddhism, it is said that the afterworld one goes to is determined by one’s relationships and karma; that those who do good deeds will go to paradise, while those who do not will go to hell. Christianity tells us that those who do good deeds and believe in Jesus Christ will go to heaven whereas those who are evil and do not believe in Jesus Christ will go to hell.
I have been to several funerals, and at each funeral, the rites were carried out according to the deceased’s religious beliefs. However I found that no one truly knew where their beloved had gone. When the topic of the afterworld comes up in funerals or during general daily conversations, those with religious beliefs speak in keeping with what they had learned through their religious scriptures while others who are non-religious believe that one simply disappears after death.
If we had a better understanding of man, we would be able to easily know the answer. The moment we humans are born into this world we take pictures of the world and of our whole lives: pictures of everything we do, our families, enemies, money, love, fame, and everything in our lives. This is what people do. Because the real world and man’s individual mind world overlap, he does not know that he is living in his mind world, and mistakenly believes himself to be living in the real world. However, he is not of the real world; he is a person of his own mind world. He is always trying to appease his feelings of inferiority and from within his mind, he loves, hates, has inner conflicts, likes and dislikes. However these are all just his own minds. The human mind world is false; it is a non-existent delusional world. When a person who is within his mind world dies, he dies forever in it. In other words, he follows his ties, his relationships and the karma that he has accrued, but this afterworld he goes to is a desional world which does not exist in the real world. It is hell.
The law of the world is that all material existences in the world come from the origin that is Truth and return to it. But people on the other hand, all go to the mind worlds they have made and die forever. True life is returning to and being reborn in the origin that is the Creator and Truth by destroying one’s mind world. This is heaven, and only then can one live forever. Man dies unless he repents because no one in the world is righteous – he ends up becoming a dream that does not exist in the true world. Only one whose Soul and Spirit of Truth, the origin of the world, has been born will live. People end up dying because they do not have the Soul and Spirit of the world. He whose true Soul and Spirit is resurrected by repenting and going to Truth, the original foundation, will live forever.
