Santa Clara Meditation How to be courageous and bold – What scares you most in life?
I majored in film directing in college. I didn’t do well in school. I couldn’t get along with people. To major in film directing, almost all subjects must be team projects. I’ve always been a loser and an outsider. I felt inferior and envious when I saw my friends that made the team project great. School life was difficult. I studied hard and went to a prestigious university, but my college life was a mess. My college life, stained with feelings of inferiority and victimization, took root deep in my heart as a fear.
After graduating from college with low self-esteem, it was not easy for me to find a job. I felt shame for no reason. Even after joining a newspaper company as a camera reporter, I was obsessed with the idea that I was not fit for this company and that I was not qualified.
I thought I was incompetent, a woman, and a lazy person who didn’t try my best. This sense of inferiority was the biggest enemy that gnawed at my soul, and it was fear.
But with meditation I started 5 years ago, I am living a completely different life. I am capable, proud of being a mother of two, and do my best at what I want to do. With the help of scientific and systematic meditation methods, I threw away the inferiority consciousness like poison in my mind. I realized this while letting go of the inferiority consciousness that lived within me. I have a sense of inferiority, but I hoped for great results without effort. And I found that the expectations I had of myself were too high. I was able to sincerely hug and comfort myself in my 20s, who didn’t know how to approach my friends by letting go of my inferiority complex, the mind of wanting for a lucky chance, and pride. ‘Great job, Donna. I’m proud of you. Thank you for your hard work in life,’ I told myself.
