Santa Clara Meditation Confidence – What philosophy of life do you live by?
While reading an article about a movie that was recently released in Korea, I found out that the person who directed the movie was a friend of mine in graduate school that I was once close. The male lead in the film was the highest-paid actor in Korea, and my friend became the director of his first feature film.
The moment I read the article, jealousy rose from the depths of my stomach. And I had a strange feeling of what the hell I had been doing all my life.
But what is clear is that my friend who became a director worked hard to make his dream come true. And it is the fact that I made every moment of choice to become who I am today. I am a housewife and have two sons. I once dreamed of becoming a film director, but when I had to choose after graduating from graduate school, I took a different path.
My life is not over yet and I don’t know what awaits me in the future. I am anxious and hopeful. Instead, one thing is clear. Even if it’s the smallest thing I can do, I’m going to do it now. When those little things pile up, they become huge. Instead, little by little every day, little by little, I reflect on myself, abandon ‘me’ of yesterday, and move on.
Fortunately, as a middle-aged woman, I still have so many things I want to do. There are many places in this world I want to visit and many things I want to learn. Although I have lived a life full of mistakes and failures, I am still grateful that I can take a walk on two strong legs in the local park at sunset every day.
