Master Woo Myung Book – The Enlightened World – My Duty
Look at the stars that illuminate the sky,
at whether there is reason in their existence.
Look at all the creations in the world,
at whether there is reason in their existence.
Who made them?
Can you see who it is?
Everything is the one Truth just as you see it.
The things that either exist or do not exist;
the things that neither exist nor do not exist;
the things you cannot see –
none of them are Truth
but mere wordplay.
All the creations come and go without reason.
They simply exist without reason.
Their true identities exist as they are,
but man alone discerns
what exists from what does not exist;
he alone foolishly questions why.
He does not know he is foolish though,
and he harbors suspicions.
There is not a single person in this world
who knows what it means to abandon ‘the self’
or what the heartache is like in doing so.
I look to Heaven,
for I am alone in my knowledge.
How should I teach people?
Though I know the way,
there is no one.
They are unwilling to let go of
their self-imposed burdens,
for they hold them too dear.
I have no longings or expectations,
yet people are neither able to understand my will
nor follow it.
My mind flows with the drifting clouds,
and I sing along to the songs of life.
But I know that my sole duty is to save mankind,
which is why I am writing these words
late into the night.
I cannot sleep because man does not follow my will.
Then all of a sudden I think to myself,
Heaven alone understands my will
and tells me not to worry.
