This means that even though one’s life itself is Truth, man looks for Truth in the wrong places. Namely, it means that one searches for dō ignorant of the fact that when he becomes enlightened, the land of God and Buddha is the place where he is. Both sides of the hand are dō, and such is Truth.
Everything exists in his life, but man tries to seek answers to what he does not know from the outside. Dō is right where he is, not somewhere else.
